Tandem Kayaks
Being a recreational sport the tandem kayak or double-passenger kayak as some would call it, has proven again and again that you can enjoy hours of fun with a partner or your children and dog. You can arrange a really good family adventure driffting down your neighbouring rivers and lakes with the children sitting infront. Being at the back means that you can keep an eye on the children while your row. Various tandem kayaks have a rudder in the stern (back) which will encourage the front passenger to navigate the kayak and instruct the stern passenger where to go.
Tandem kayaking has grown to be quite a widespread sport, not only for the family but also for a more whitewater riding experience. There are numerous tandem kayaks to select from depending on what your sport is.
This can range from the family experience where your kayak is a more wider kayak with lots of storage space and great to learn to kayak in with an instructer or to teach the children. The only problem with this sort of kayak is that it, to some extent, lacks maneuverablity.
You then go onto the kayaks that yourself and a partner take out for fishing, wheather it be river fishing or sea fishing. You can kit your kayak with all sorts of fishing accessories like rod holders, cup holders, systems for navigation, helmets, first aid kits, repair kits, the list is endless.
Don't forget that there is the extreme sports for those looking for the ultimate in action with a partner in tow.
